Informative and sumptuously filmed with very nice dramatisations and music

My only criticism was that the first half hour of this mini-series is a little on the slow side. That said though, this is really informative. Charlotte Bronte is a truly great author; Jane Eyre I have always considered an amazing book. This mini-series based on her life was truly detailed, the information presented I never know until I saw this and found really interesting. I think it really helped that the period detail with the dramatisations was so good, the lavish costumes and sets were wonderful. The music is one of the most haunting and poignant scores I have ever heard on a documentary, some scenes like Branwell's death were unbearably sad chiefly because of that. And the acting was very good. Patricia Routledge provides a thoughtful and insightful narrator, and out of the dramatisations, Victoria Hamilton, Patrick Malahide and Elizabeth Hurran really stood out. If you find this anywhere, I do recommend you see it. 9/10 Bethany Cox
