Originally syndicated in Canada, the show was later shown in Quebec as Campus, Germany and Indonesia. Due to the relative lack of television choices at the time in Suharto-run centrally-controlled Indonesia at the time, one of the Chinese extras had actually achieved minor celebrity status as a result.
The soda shop where all the kids would hang out in was called "Harry's Place", named after Producer Harry Jakobs.
Production halted briefly in mid-season due to a strike by the full cast. As a non-union production, the cast felt that they were being underpaid for their work. Winning a small raise, they soon resumed work, though the extras immediately saw their own pay reduced.
During one classroom scene, a small earthquake hit Montreal. Despite the possible danger to the cast and extras in the scene at the time, everyone worked as if nothing had occurred and continued to film despite everything shaking. The scene was later used in the actual show.
David Lipper, or Kevin, the "rich" kid, left the show in mid-season after being accepted to Boston's famous Emerson College.
