A wonderfully funny black & white homage to the first days of movie-making.

That Darn Bill is pure entertainment. It captures the innocence and fun from the days of black & white, silent films. The whimsical story of a hobo down on his luck who comes across a hundred dollar bill is something everyone can enjoy.

enjoyable comedy

i enjoyed this film very much. sure, i'm only 16 but i know what is funny. and my mom liked it too. i think small kids will also like it because its very slapstick. actually that's what this is is a slapstick movie.....like the ones from the 1920s. it's nice to see a movie where people aren't getting shot or beaten up or blown up and where you can have a good clean laugh. so much stuff thats out on utube and other sites is just stupid. and i did laugh at this film very much. it's crazy, man. funny and crazy. the music is great and the main guy is funnier than youknowwhat. i'm a budding film-maker and i think it would be great to have a movie to show the world. well one day. so if you have ten minutes to spare sit down and watch this movie and have some laughs. thanks for reading!!!

funny, funny little movie!!!!!

I'm not sure what that prior poster was talking about. I think he's taking this way too seriously. Perhaps he thinks he's writing reviews for the New York Times?? Come on fella, lighten up a little and stop being such a stick in the mud. I personally found this short film very very entertaining, very charming and very well produced. The music alone is worth the price of admission. My wife watched the movie with me and she enjoyed it too--and she doesn't like much of anything (comedy-wise, that is). We both found ourselves laughing out loud several times (something I haven't done since "There's Something About Mary"!!!). And it's a movie suitable for kids. That's saying quite a lot these days. Hats off to the filmmakers!!!

Not for a modern audience.

Although reasonably technically accomplished the film seems just as shallow, linear and meaningless as any other 'comedy' film I've ever seen from the silent era of film. That in itself wouldn't be a bad thing if it had managed to raise a laugh from me. It didn't. There are reasons that silent film has been superseded in the modern world. Watch this film to see what those reasons are. A modern sophisticated audience demands modern sophisticated themes and narrative. Emotion should also be evoked. In my case, I just watched wondering why anyone would want to emulate a silent movie when so many are already available in the public domain. I didn't find this comedy particularly amusing or funny personally so all I had to fall back on was the narrative and the rhythm, revelation and resolution. None of which I felt gave me any satisfaction.

A movie anyone will enjoy

You don't have to be into silent films or even the B/W films of yesteryear to enjoy this movie. It is absolutely hilarious and the ending is superb. I especially liked it because you don't need to hear to be able to enjoy it. It is also computer-friendly; I had no trouble viewing it with the program it runs in. The thing about this movie is that it is so much like life with that whole "luck FINALLY smiles upon me" but with some (hilarious) consequence. It wasn't overdone in any way and the pacing was excellent. The movie doesn't run too long, an added convenience. And even though I know how it ends, it's definitely something I know I'll enjoy watching again and again. It is that good. Good job!!
