Jenna Dewan is preparing to star as heroine Patience in the 2010 live action film 'Magdalena', which is based on a popular Top Cow comic book.
In the film, Patience discovers that she's a part of the lineage of female warriors descended from Mary Magdalene who fight supernatural evil. The film also stars Luke Goss who plays Kristof, an agent sent by the secret organization that has been the guardian of the Magdalena lineage.
Before Jen begins the rigorous training she will have to go through for the film, she is accompanying Chan on his current 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' around-the-world press tour.
Via her new official Twitter Jenna let us know from London this morning that Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura ('Midnight Meat Train') has now been chosen to helm 'Magdalena', and feels that "he is such a unique visionary".
In Variety we get a few more details.

The folks of Top Cow Productions team up with these two to bring the mystical action/drama Magdalena to the big screen.
Set to already write the film is Holly Brix who penned The Butterfly Effect 3. Along for the ride is Ryuhei Kitamura, who directed Versus, Sky High and The Midnight Meat Train to name a few, who will jump into the director’s chair once again.
“Both Kitamura and Brix bring very unique visions to ‘ Magdalena ,’” said Hurd. “Kitamura’s visual style coupled with Brix imaginative narrative will truly make ‘ Magdalena ’ a compelling film on screen” added Hurd.
“We have wanted to work with Kitamura for some time and his appetite for the material is infectious,...
