Absolute beautiful opera...
For the last 20 years, I've been trying to get a copy of the Kennedy Center premiere with Placido Domingo.
Any time a special friend visited me, I would pop my homemade copy of the premiere. But alas, the thing is all scratched by now. I would love to buy a copy.
The music is beautiful; the acting and dancing is great; the chemistry between the two lovers, Placido and Victoria is extraordinary; the ending is sublime; and oh,so so sweet.
It makes you think about life and evil and what we are put on earth to do and what happens when we die. Goya is essentially an opera as well as a philosophical treatise on the meaning of life, love and faith.
