Sex & Nudity

  • Some extremely graphic sexual dialogue in a scene where a group of men discuss things they are currently reading in a pornographic magazine.
  • We see a girl vigorously fondling a man's penis so that he gets a erection. The penis itself isn't visible, though her hand and its motion are.
  • A man is shown sitting on the toilet, but the bottom of his shirt is covering his genitals.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is stabbed hard in the chest, killing him. No blood shown but the scene is quick and shocking.
  • A man accidentally shoots his friend in the head showing a minor splatter of brain matter.
  • There is not a lot of onscreen violence, but the film still contains lots of brutal violence that is extremely shocking and sobering.
  • There are a lot of instances of men abusing women.
  • It's implied that a man beats another man's head in with a hammer. We don't see the act, but we see the man's head later which's extremely bloody and some skull fragments are seen. The words "one down" are spelled on the wall near the dead body in blood. Very graphic and brief; fairly disturbing.
  • A man verbally abused an autistic young man then punches him in the face, knocking him unconscious briefly.
  • A man wraps his arms around a woman's neck and yells at her.
  • Another woman is grabbed by the hair and is forced to have sex with a retarded man. She complies, then angrily throws her clothes at the men who forced her to have sex with the man. The man grabs her, throws her around, all the while yelling and screaming.
  • A man is shown vomiting whilst in a drug-induced stupor.
  • A man throws some people who are extremely high on drugs around and commands them to do things while they are extremely disoriented.

Profanity

  • 6 Uses Of C*nt
  • "Fuck" is used 116 times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The group of "bad guys" in the film take many drugs frequently (also drink alcohol quite frequently, sometimes while already under the influence of drugs). One scene shows the effects of the drugs in a disorienting and serious manner. Cocaine, marijuana, and various mixed drugs are all taken a couple times during the film.
  • At some point in the film, a group of men force a disabled man to smoke cigarettes and partake in illegal drug activity against his will.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Much of the movie may be difficult to watch and not for the faint of heart.
  • Watching Anthony (a mentally disabled young adult) being bullied and tormented could be upsetting for some.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A man tries to convince a mentally disabled man to perform oral sex on another man. However, nothing occurs.

Violence & Gore

  • A man threatens another man with an axe. From a distance, the man being threatened has his friends lining a rifle's sights up with the man with the axe. However, when the gun is fired, they accidentally shoot the man being threatened instead of the axe wielder. Blood spurts from his head and he falls over dead. His body is seen seconds later. A gaping wound is in his head and there is lost of blood near him on the ground. A fairly graphic scene, but nothing is seen very up-close.
  • A man places a plastic bag over a man's head and shoots him in the head. No blood is seen, but we hear the shot and we see the man fall down on his front. The man who had shot him later stuffs the man's body inside of a suitcase. We only see the aftermath of this. The man's body is extremely contorted (it is implied that he had broken all of the man's bones to fit him into the suitcase) and his skin is very pale. Though this is not bloody, it may be the most disturbing image in the whole film to some viewers.
  • A man punches another man in the face, pushing his nose into his brain and killing him. His bloodied face is seen briefly as the man moves him away.
  • A man stabs another man in the side with a knife. We don't see any blood, but we hear the knife penetrate and exit his body graphically.
  • Two young boys are given a gas mask and a knife by the main character. It is revealed that these are the sons of one of the people who had tortured the main character's retarded brother in the past.
  • A disabled man has a noose wrapped around his neck and is dragged to a secluded area by a group of ruffians who do nothing but torture the disabled man. He then has a wooden contraption, much like a muzzle, placed over his head and is left alone in a brick building.
  • We see the story explained that the disabled man, once taken to the secluded area mentioned above had either accidentally or intentionally hung himself with the noose around his neck. His dead corpse is seen hanging in the doorway of the area, staring blankly at the camera. This scene is very sad and almost completely unexpected. Later, the main character forces another character to kill him. The man then forces the knife into the main character against his will, because the main character realizes how dangerous he's become and clips are shown with him and the man's children, hinting to the main character's insanity, that his revenge might not just stop with the last guy, that he might murder his family as well as him. He dies slowly and dramatically. He is seen in a large pool of blood shortly after.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At one point in the film, the main character opens up a suitcase, revealing that the bodies of one of the tormentors has been squashed inside. Extremely disturbing but most of this comes from imagining the suffering of the victim.
  • The movie becomes very dramatic towards the end. The film also contains a large plot reveal that many will find to be very emotionally distressing. The very end of the film will have the same effect on people as well, most likely.
