Excellent Documentary About Three Who Defied Hitler!
blue-76 April 2005
Nobel Prize Winner, Gunter Grass, while doing research for a book, discovered the almost forgotten true story of Helmuth Hubener, a German teenager who discovered that the Nazi's were withholding truth from the German people, and had the courage to publish and distribute information he gained from the forbidden BBC broadcasts to as many people as he could.

TRUTH & CONVICTION: The Helmuth Hubener Story is a fascinating documentary written & directed by Matt Whitaker that conveys the courage of a young man courageous enough to stand up to a government that could only survive by withholding truth and freedoms from its own citizen's.

This documentary include interviews with Helmuth's close friend, who along with another young man, helped him distribute his flyers before they were arrested and imprisoned.

The Special Features of this DVD include some very interesting behind-the-scenes interviews that give additional insights into the story and to the detail that went into truthful telling of this inspiring story of courage.

This DVD is highly recommended!
