Note: This review is based on a viewing of a Pathescope cut-down movie which experts believe to be a show-at-home version of BRIDAL GROOMS -- but may be something else entirely.
For 1923 this is a fairly primitive short comedy involving fighting over a pretty girl, a horse race and competitors trying to blow each other up with blasting powder -- except for a few cues like the actors and some on-film editing, it might have been produced half a dozen years earlier.
It's still amusing because of the expert physical gags and the suspenseful pacing of the explosion gag. The silent comedy fan will likely find it interesting, but it is unlikely to win any fans for silent comedy.
