In the prison release scene - the "Taylor County Jail" sign in the background (added in post-production) is named for the visual effects editor's wife, and the address is that of his childhood home.
It took two people two days to clean up the "crack house" location before principal photography started, to make it believable that someone could actually live there - and someone HAD lived there a month earlier.
The "meth lab" seen in the kitchen of the crack house consisted of props left over from the feature "Iowa" which had just wrapped additional photography the previous day (and for some reason they didn't want to take drug paraphernalia on the plane with them).
