Ohhhh one of the Super 8 Castle Films//before VHS and beta . . . we had PROJCTORS
safeinheaven1 February 2008
kids, back in the day we had to dig the movie projector out of the closet, take the cover off, unfold the arms, attach the take-up reel, thread the sprocket holes of the little (usually) 200 ft. reel, turn on the bulb, put blankets up over the windows if it was during the day, and project the Super 8 film up onto a "Da Lite" screen. My Gosh, what a set of days those were . . . no VCRS . . . VCRS were a thousand dollars . . . by 1982 they came down to 600 dollars. Anyway, the films were great: Son of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, War of the Worlds, The Lost World . . . .those were the days! and Laurel and Hardy Movies: Be Big, Hog Wild; AWESOME! All of these films should earn a ten because that was ALL WE HAD from the mid-sixties to about '82 - '84 . . . .by 1984 EVERYBODY had VCRS. I miss the old Castle Films a lot. Super 8 . . .then the forty watt bulb would burn out and we'd have to get another form a pawn shop (very hard to find after '82).
