The western characters are drawn with accuracy

In this story a girl whose father dies in the desert is picked up unconscious by a cowboy and taken to the ranch where friendship speedily ripens into love. Later the cowboy discovers she can't read and decides to send her east for a year's schooling. When she returns, the polish deceives him and he leaves, only to be followed by her and brought back. Then he realizes the full measure of her devotion. The story is simple, but the settings are all good. The desert scenes are particularly attractive because they reproduce what the desert actually is. The western characters are drawn with accuracy and the entire picture moves with a swing which holds the attention of the audience throughout. - The Moving Picture World, July 15, 1911
