Chicago – The education system of America has been ripe over the years for comedic skewering… and with today’s overindulgent parenting style, it’s never been a better time for those knowing laughs. The focus on parent teacher/conferences is the subject of the latest comedy web series, shot in Chicago, called “Other People’s Children.” (Opc).
Opc centers on Margot Antler (Astra Asdou), who dreams of becoming a renowned novelist, but in reality she’s a rookie second grade teacher who is about to experience the insanity of parent/teacher conferences for the first time. The series develops as a series of vignettes, as Margot finds herself at conferences where the adults behave worst than their children. In those encounters, it’s not so much the second graders who have problems, but rather their post millennial parents.

What's the only thing worse than a sequel? The only prospect worse than paying £10 at your local cinema to have your favourite movie ruined, forever. The answer has three words. Straight-to-video.
In the '90s, home release sequels became fairly common. You'd greet them with surprise at your local Blockbusters and then want to pull your eyeballs out when you took them home and watched them. They're probably called straight-to-dvd or straight-to-Blu-ray now, but they still exist.
With the announcement that Dolph Lundgren will be starring in Kindergarten Cop 2 (because of course), here are 21 absolute stinking sequels - the vast majority of which weren't even considered good enough for the cinema. How many of them have you watched?
1. American Pie Presents: Band Camp
2. American Pie Presents: Beta House
Maybe it's the Eugene Levy factor - just why did he keep starring in all the sequels?! - but we have weird...

Charlie Lyne's documentary Beyond Clueless harks back to the classic teen movies that shaped the '90s.
Featuring narration from The Craft's Fairuza Balk (and with clips of Robin Tunney, Devon Sawa and co), it made us feel a sudden pang of nostalgia and sent us on our own trip down memory lane to find out where they - and the rest of the '90s teen movie crew - are now.
So, here are 11 stars from some of our favourite '90s teen movies, and what they've gone on to do since:
1. Devon Sawa - Idle Hands (1999)
Dreamy Devon Sawa starred as lazy stoner Anton Tobias - who turns mass murderer after his hand becomes possessed - in the horror comedy Idle Hands.
He went on to play teenage prophet of doom Alex Browning in Final Destination (2000), and appeared as similarly unstable Stan in Eminem's controversial music...

I never watch a trailer until after I’ve seen the movie, and I also attempt to avoid as much news as possible. Then I compare what I knew, to what you knew. Let’s find out if what we see in the trailer is what we get, and if there is any advantage to going in fresh. (There will be spoilers.) What I Knew Before: I knew these guys. I liked these guys. Did I need a reunion? I knew the whole gang was back together again, which is clearly the appeal to this sequel. You see, there have been seven Pies. American Pie, American Pie 2 and American Wedding were in theaters. American Pie Presents: Band Camp, American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile, American Pie Presents: Beta House, American Pie Presents: The Book of Love were straight to DVD. Getting the gang back...

Monthly Movie Preview – April 2012
Can you smell that? It’s the scent of “Almost Summer.” No, that’s not the name of a cheap fragrant candle, but the aroma multiplexes let waft when it’s almost the main season for blockbusters. But before we focus on mega movies like The Avengers in May, and The Dark Knight Rises in July, April has some unique choices for us, most of which are not based off comic books, or feature gluttonous budgets.
April is going to be an intimate month with a slew of romantic movies, some more comedic than others – American Reunion, The Lucky One, Think Like A Man, The Five-Year Engagement, and even the indie Darling Companion. Even the horror genre is going to see some unique spins, with movies like The Cabin in the Woods, Detention, and The Raven.
And of course, before we head off into the land of summer blockbusters,...

American Pie lovers (all both of yous) will be happy to hear the news that most of the film’s stars have signed on for one more sequel called American Reunion. It’s not that we hate the movie—we actually quite enjoyed it when it came out—but any goodwill toward the film was lost with each subsequent sequel (American Pie 2, American Wedding) and spinoff (American Pie Presents Band Camp, American Pie Presents The Naked Mile, American Pie Presents Beta House, American Pie Presents The Book Of Love) that came out of the franchise. But now, there will be (at least) one last hurrah.
American Reunion has signed every major actor from the film (though Alyson Hannigan is still a maybe) to reprise the roles they played in the 1999 film, with Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, and Seann William Scott among them. If you weren’t really paying attention back then,...

…with The Sound of Murder. (”Sound of Music” parody…thank you very much).
The Hills Run Red is distributed by Dark Castle Entertainment, and stars the very sexy Sophie Monk (Date Movie,The Legend of Awesomest Maximus), Tad Hilgenbrink (American Pie presents: Band Camp, Lost Boys 2:The Tribe) and William Sadler (Tv’s Roswell).
This movie is not to be confused with the movie, The Hills Have Eyes…in fact, this movie is probably a little bit better than that movie… yes I just said that! Thrr is based around a young film student who is in search of the finished product from the 90’s film The Hills Run Red (coincidence? Maybe!). In the early scenes of the movie we find out that a movie was made and everyone that was involved with the movie cannot be found, even the director of the movie has not been seen since the early 90’s.

Kill Devil Hills - The scary season has arrived.
In the spirit of movies that make you fear going to the movies comes The Hills Run Red on DVD. Tyler (Tad Hilgenbrinck) is a film geek obsessed with an ’80s film called The Hills Run Red. The movie was quickly yanked from theaters and no prints or videotapes of the film exist. He finds a clue to the movie by locating one of its stars played by Sophie Monk. After a lapdance, she agrees to take Tad and his two friends to the shooting location. Tad doesn’t realize there might be a sequel in production.
Star Tad Hilgenbrinck and director Dave Parker called up the Party Favors hotline to chat about their grisly horror film about a gruesome horror film recently released on DVD by Warner Premiere.
Tad has been in Epic Movie, Disaster Movie and Lost Boys: The Tribe,...

With The Hangover currently tearing up the box office, I guess it's sort of appropriate to take a look at the trailer for the direct-to-dvd sequel to Todd Phillips's first major studio comedy, Road Trip. Not that Phillips is actually involved in any way... this looks like something that should have the National Lampoon name slapped on it instead. Road Trip 2: Beer Pong is directed by Steve Rash (American Pie Presents Band Camp, Son In Law) and is written by Brad Riddell (American Pie Presents Band Camp, Slap Shot 3: The Junior League). I don't think I need to tell you much more than that. DJ Qualls (The New Guy) seems to be the only original cast member to return, although strangely, he is not credited on IMDb [1]. I wouldn't want to take credit for this either. According to DVD Active [2], Road Trip 2 will hit stores on August 11th.

Don't ask me why, but it appears that the relatively obscure Canadian sport of lacrosse is coming to the big screen, courtesy of the producers of Bio-Dome and the director of American Pie Presents Band Camp! If that doesn't sound like a disaster in the making, I don't know what is! Still, I must admit that I'm kind of curious to see whether or not such a thing actually has an audience. I know lacrosse isn't limited only to Canada, but it's certainly nowhere near as popular as hockey -- and even hockey films are a hard sell in the U.S. In case you aren't familiar with the sport, it has its origins in Native American traditions. Players use sticks outfitted with netting at the end to throw a rubber ball into a net. Director Steve Rash is part Cherokee himself, and the movie will be set in an upstate New York reservation.

Steve Rash (American Pie Presents Band Camp) has signed on to direct "Crooked Arrows," an underdog sports comedy set in the world of lacrosse. Mitchell Peck and Adam Leff, who co-wrote and executive produced "Bio-Dome." The trio are fans of the sport and, in the words of Peck, aim to make "the first mainstream lacrosse movie out of Hollywood." They are finalizing financing and sponsorships for a late-summer shoot in the Northeast. They have already lined up endorsements from Major League Lacrosse, the National Lacrosse League, Us Lacrosse and LaxFestUSA. The producers also are talking to sports brands, colleges and prep schools. The sport's origins date back to northeastern American Indian tribes in the 1100s, and "Arrows" will have a Native American angle, with the story set on an upstate New York reservation. The film centers on a 30-year-old of mixed blood who must postpone his casino-building dreams to coach...

A direct-to-disc sequel to Todd Phillips’ Road Trip, the comedy that put his name on the map, is currently underway and the folks over at Moviehole have some new details. According to the site the sequel, Road Trip 2: Beer Pong, centers on a college student named Andy who's egged on by his friends to stop worrying so much about his girlfriend back-home and start enjoying college life to the full. While enjoying life he meets a ‘Beer Pong' model named Jenna and becomes infatuated with her. Andy and his friends decide to hit the road chasing Jenna and her model friends, but their plans get complicated when Andy’s girlfriend decides to transfer to his university so she can be closer to him. Moviehole also says you can expect a subplot involving one of the guy's playing in a beer-pong competition. Steve Rash (American Pie Presents Band Camp) is directing,...
