Has Several Interesting Features
Snow Leopard15 February 2005
This short movie has plenty of action, and it offers a number of interesting features. The chase sequence was most probably the primary motivation for making it, and it does produce some good action. The technique is interesting as well, in that this is one of the earlier efforts to use panning for dramatic effect.

The story is designed primarily as a comedy, but it has also has some drama and some action. It starts off with a car theft, and then follows the involved chase that ensues. The car thieves seem more like joyriders than anything else, and at a couple of times during the chase they indulge themselves in some seemingly impractical amusements. The actors portraying the thieves seem to be having a good time, and it adds to the energy level of the film.

Early in the movie, there are a couple of slow, short panning shots, shifting the camera slowly across the setting to enable the viewer to take in the complete scene. A little later, there is a much more ambitious use of the camera, as it moves from one edge of the roadside to the other, and then back again, to follow the action. Nothing revolutionary, to be sure, but not exactly commonplace for its time, and it is used to good effect.

All in all, for such a simple feature, there are several good reasons why it is worth a look.
