UK-based Plimsoll Productions will have offices in Bristol and London with a focus on reality and wildlife programming for both UK and American broadcasters. Grant Mansfield will serve as Chief Executive, with Gavin Henderson as creative director, Martha Holmes as executive producer (Wildlife), Kate Beetham as executive producer (Factual) and Christine Owen as managing director. All will report directly to Mansfield. Mansfield most recently served as CEO of Los Angeles-based Zodiak USA where he executive produced Secret Millionaire, Celebrity Wife Swap, Hardcore Pawn and Killer Karaoke. Prior to his U.S. role, Mansfield served as Managing Director of London-based Rdf, where he developed and produced formats Ladette To Lady, Holiday Showdown, Oz And James Big Wine Adventure, Gene Simmons Rock School and Dickinson’s Real Deal.

The fourth series of Ladette To Lady got off to a poor start on ITV1 last night, according to early ratings figures. The opening episode, which saw headmistress Gill Harbord greet a batch of Aussie ladettes, pulled in a lowly 2.6m (12.4%) during the 9pm hour. Series three opened to 3.39m (14.3%) on January 22, 2008. The show came just ahead of the return of BBC Two's Mary, Queen Of Charity Shops, which attracted 2.52m (12%). Crimewatch came top during the hour, putting in 4.37m (20.9%) for BBC One, and Channel 4's new series I'm Running Sainsbury's interested 1.61m (7.7%). CSI took a strong 2.45m (11.7%) for Five after a drop last week due to a clash with Britain's Got Talent. Holby City placed BBC One in first place during the 8pm hour, averaging 5.39m (27.3%). Sundance Channel said Thursday that it has acquired U.S. pay television rights to the British reality series Ladette to Lady, a comedic look at the transformation of 10 "ladettes" -- aggressive, working-class party girls -- into stylish, well-mannered ladies. The series of five hourlong episodes, produced by RDF Media, will premiere in the spring. Ladette to Lady, produced by Grant Mansfield and Rod Williams, originally aired on ITV1.
