On Monday we reported that Iron Man 3 scribe Drew Pearce was still hopeful about Runaways, the film he was originally hired by Marvelto make, seeing the light of day in a post-Guardians of the Galaxy world. Now, we have word that the screenwriter is setting his sights on an even riskier, and possibly more obscure property to bring to the big screen: Damage Control.
Screen Rant spoke with Pearce about his latest Marvel project, the All Hail The King One-Shot attached to the Thor: The Dark World Blu-Ray, and asked him what property or character he’d like to tackle next if given the opportunity.
The answer to that is – I think actually before the other Drew [Goddard], or as I think of him, the better Drew, took on Daredevil it might actually have been Daredevil, but right now – and my obsession for years – has always been Damage Control. I...

It turns out that Drew Pearce has been trying to write and direct a "One Shot" for Marvel since his (currently shelved) script for Runaways was picked up. As well as stating that he's still hopeful that a Runaways movie will eventually see the light of day, he drops the names of a few characters that were the focus of some of his other scripts before Sir Ben Kingsley's involvement pushed All Hail The King to the top of the queue. "One was Sin and Crossbones (from Captain America). I love Jessica Jones, and while obviously Jessica Jones and Alias is Now going to exist in the Netflix part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (McU), I'd always obsessively been trying to put her in stuff I'd been working with Marvel on… but about three or four other ones, too. My Marvel obsession with Damage Control is still there… but...

At this point, Kelly Clarkson would rather you forget her acting debut in the 2003 box-office beach-blanket bomb "From Justin to Kelly." But that doesn't mean the original "American Idol" champ doesn't want to work her way back to the small screen.
In fact, she really, really wants to drop in on "Parks and Recreation" and has started an initiative to land a slot on Amy Poehler's hit Thursday-night laugher. "Here's the deal ... I really want to be on 'Parks and Recreation,' " she told fans on her official website on Monday. "It's hilarious! I am a bad actress but maybe I could play a bad actress! I would nail that! I need to be in a scene with Ron Swanson.

Back in June, we told you that Paramount Pictures was looking to acquire "The Mighty." Now comes further word on the developing DC Comics adaptation: a writer has been hired to flesh the comic book out as a movie script.
According to Variety, writer-producer Drew Pearce has been brought on board for the job. While Pearce’s credits are mainly TV related with such shows as “No Heroics,” “Damage Control” and “High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman,” he’s also been hired to write the script for “Iron Man 3.”
“The Mighty,” originally published by DC in 2009, tells the story of Alpha-One, "the world's most powerful super-being, who has always been a force for good, but Gabriel Cole, a cop who's life was saved by Alpha One as a child, has uncovered his hero's dark plan that will put them on a collision course of an ordinary man versus a super-man.

After spending untold amounts of cash on hundreds of dramas and comedies — most of which will never make it to your living rooms — the five broadcast networks will begin announcing in New York next week which projects are good enough to earn a coveted fall pickup. (NBC and Fox will present their fall schedule to advertisers on Monday, followed by ABC on Tuesday, CBS on Wednesday and the CW on Thursday).
Buzz is already strong for several projects (for more on the hot ones, click here). But every year, we always wonder what diamond-in-the-rough was left on the cutting room...

That Shonda Rhimes-created pilot about a PR firm now has a name called “Damage Control” and joining the series will be Tony Goldwyn. We recently reported that Lost’s, Henry Ian Cusick, was up for a role in the series as well, playing the head lawyer of the company.
Based on the life of PR guru Judy Smith, Damage Control centers on a crisis management professional (Kerry Washington) and her dysfunctional staff. Goldwyn is also a director and producer in film and television in real life. He will play President Fitzgerald Grant.
As an actor, he recently appeared in The Mechanic. Behind the camera, he most recently directed Hilary Swank in Conviction and has helmed episodes of Dexter and Grey’s Anatomy. Guillermo Diaz, Columbus Short, Henry Ian Cusick and Katie Lowes also star opposite Washington. Paul McGuigan is set to direct the pilot.

Her credits include the indie films "Life in Short" and "El Segundo," the MTV series "Damage Control," and commercials for Bank of America, Bud Light, Amtrak, Diet Coke, Levi's, FedEx, At&T, Verizon, and Gillette. In the HouseI've been with House Casting since 2004. Neil Myer is the big boss here. It's a fun job. I love casting. I get to actually be creative, I get to direct, and I get to discover new talent.
