Already fighting dozens of indictments and an ongoing hush-money trial in New York, Donald Trump wants to head back to court over the movie that took Cannes by storm today.
“We will be filing a lawsuit to address the blatantly false assertions from these pretend filmmakers,” the Trump campaign’s Steven Cheung declared Monday over the The Apprentice film by director Ali Abbasi. Depicting the rise of Trump (Sebastian Stan) out of his father’s shadow thanks to the well-connected and ruthless Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong), the film just debuted in the South of France to an 11-minute standing ovation.
“This garbage is pure fiction which sensationalizes lies that have been long debunked,” spokesperson Cheung said of the Competition film. “As with the illegal Biden Trials, this is election interference by Hollywood elites, who know that President Trump will retake the White House and beat their candidate of choice because...

Boston Rob Mariano is convinced he would have won Deal Or No Deal Island if he did not have the penalty. Fans were rooting for Rob the entire game. He is most known for the multiple times he has competed on Survivor. Viewers were watching and did not want to watch any longer if he was not in the competition anymore. Rob was a target the entire time due to his past experiences.
Boston Rob Mariano Receives Penalty
Boston Rob revealed he was “half-listening” to the rules when Joe was telling them. Instead of listening, he was trying to figure out a good strategy to win. However, one of the rules he missed was that you cannot look at another player’s board. Once Amy got her map and was able to go into the maze, Rob looked at her board. The game was immediately stopped, and Joe announced Rob would receive a penalty.

From the beginning of Deal or No Deal Island, Stephanie Mitchell found herself playing defense. Early on in the inaugural season, she was targeted as a potential eliminee by some powerful people, but thanks to her signature “determination” (and a well-timed alliance with the so-called “Night Owls”), she managed to make it all the way to the end. She might’ve even gotten to the final two if she’d have just selected a case that was higher than Amy McCoy’s. So how would she have fared in that final excursion with Jordan Fowler? And was she really trying to help her beat the banker (Howie Mandel) in the final temple? Plus, do the cast members have plans to get back together anytime soon? TV Insider caught up with Mitchell to get all the scoop. You were pretty much the only person that was eliminated purely by luck. How did you feel about that?...

It feels like there are so many choices on Let’s Make A Deal. Contestants can keep what they are offered or go for more. NBC dropped some good news to take us into the weekend.
The network unveiled its 2024 fall schedule, highlighting fan-favorite franchise dramas, two nights of laughs, huge unscripted hits and the biggest and best live specials and holiday programming.
If that seems like a mouthful, the details will probably help you see what’s what.
Fall Season
Three new series are set to premiere in the fall, including the drama Brilliant Minds, starring Zachary Quinto and inspired by the true story of a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist, Oliver Wolf, and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier — the human mind — while also grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

Boston Rob Mariano’s blunder may have cost him the entire Deal or No Deal Island game.
Fan favorite Boston Rob has made it to the final four and is alone against the Night Owls. The Night Owls have been picking players off left and right, leaving Boston Rob as the opposition.
Boston Rob is an expert at Survivor, and that expertise may have had him overconfident in one of the last competitions on Deal or No Deal Island.
Instead of listening to the host, Joe Manganiello, during his instructions for the puzzle game, Boston Rob was thinking two or three steps ahead.
According to an article in Entertainment Weekly, in Survivor, during puzzle competitions, players can look at and even copy other teams.

Monday night is the first of a two-part finale for Deal or No Deal Island Season 1, and it promises to be a nail-biter.
Only four contestants are left: Amy McCoy, Dr. Stephanie Mitchell, and Jordan Fowler leaving Boston Rob Mariano as the lone guy.
Boston Rob is the fan favorite who has undoubtedly carried the show. Each week, fans quickly share their thoughts about how Rob is doing and how upset they will be if he goes home.
Deal or No Deal Island differs from the original show because it is featured on a tropical island. A “banker” sequestered in a yacht calls in with deals for the contestant in the hot seat.
Claudia Jordan, an early contestant, was great for continuity since she was on the original as a suitcase model. As previously reported on Monsters and Critics, fans have called her a “lucky charm” for the series.

In the 1920s, Hollywood was the Wild West. There were few unions protecting film workers, apart from the International Association of Theater and Stage Employees, or IATSE, which was formed in 1893. It wouldn't be until 1933 that the Screen Writers Guild -- later the WGA -- would come together, followed shortly by the founding of the Screen Actors Guild. The Teamsters Local 399 started up at about the same time; these unions were, of course, a direct result of the New Deal.
Before 1933, Hollywood could exploit workers openly. The Wild West cowboys were actually millionaire executives, and the Big Five studios -- Rko, 20th Century Fox, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Warner Bros., and Paramount -- along with the Little Three -- Universal, United Artists, and Columbia -- kept actors under strict contracts and bought up all the competition. Indeed, in what might seem like a pretty wild exploitation of market power, the Big Five...

The Hot Docs Forum, the festival’s industry centerpiece, wrapped Wednesday with its most lively awards announcements in recent memory—complete with flamenco guitar, song and dance courtesy of Spain, this year’s country in focus—as hundreds of industry delegates assembled under the sun in the courtyard of Toronto’s Hart House.
Elaine Epstein’s “Arrest the Midwife”—one of 20 projects presented to key funders and decision-makers as well as filmmakers, producers and other observers at the two-day Forum pitch event—won the First Look first prize of Can $20,000 cash. Produced through Epstein’s Underdog Films (U.S.), with producers Robin Hessman and Ruth Ann Harnisch, the film follows the arrest of three midwives serving Amish and Mennonite communities, which spurs an unlikely group of activists to join the fight for reproductive rights.

Everyone knows Boston Rob Mariano from his time on Survivor or The Amazing Race.
Now, he is the undisputed star of the new Deal or No Deal Island, but if fans read into his posting on Instagram, things may end for him on the show.
With just five contestants left, Rob could be going home at any time, but a recent Instagram post has fans speculating that either he is leaving or his best friend in the game, Aron Barbell, is heading home.
Rob took the young Aron under his wing in the game and met with him on vacation after they finished filming for Deal or No Deal Island.
If what Rob has posted means what fans think it means, it seems like this week is the end for one of them.
Even Rob tries to stir things up by asking, “What is this all about?” in his caption.

This week’s Deal or No Deal Island competition has whittled the number of contestants from thirteen to five.
Nick Grasso was eliminated in a fierce battle between him and Boston Rob Mariano, resulting in Nick taking the deal from the banker.
Nick leaving the game with $4,417,000 meant Rob stayed another week, and the Night Owls declared that everyone was playing Rob’s game.
Boston Rob Mariano is a reality competition show expert, having been on Survivor and The Amazing Race multiple times, and is the one to beat in the game.
As reported by Monsters and Critics, fans are upset that the so-called Night Owls target Rob and his friend Aron Barbell so fiercely in the game.
But now, some fans speculate that maybe the show is being rigged to favor Rob because so many fans have declared they won’t watch it if he is eliminated.

The UK Labour Party has set out its plan for the film and TV industries, drawing a dividing line between itself and the ruling Conservatives as it slams the government for “getting themselves all tied up in culture wars of their own making and failing to support a pipeline of talent.”
Delivering her first major set-piece at the Creative Cities Convention, Shadow Culture Secretary Thangam Debbonaire said she will “not be fighting culture wars” but instead will focus on arts and culture being central to Labour’s “Phase One” plan if it gets into office. Her boss, Labour leader Keir Starmer, is plotting “a decade of national renewal in Britain.” The election is expected later this year and Labour is currently sitting around 20 points ahead of the Conservatives in the polls.
Debbonaire set out Labour’s position in thorny areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), the BBC and the ailing freelance workforce.

One thing is clear from a quick scroll through a cable TV guide or paying attention to the featured show commercials—the scarcity of family dramas.
Once that point is brought up, it's hard not to wonder what that says about our culture and society as a whole.
There was a time when families sat down and watched TV together.
Some of my fondest memories include watching Friday Night Lights and Gilmore Girls with my parents.
However, nowadays, the idea is becoming a foreign concept if the kids are under 18 or at least not teenagers.

For years, Rob Mariano operated as a veritable Survivor ambassador, having first appeared in Marquesas before going on to compete five more times on the CBS franchise. His celebrity became so valuable to the network that he would compete twice on The Amazing Race and even allowed CBS to film his 2005 nuptials to fellow Survivor contestant Amber Brkirch.
But when NBC’s Deal or No Deal Island came calling with the chance to compete, Mariano didn’t hesitate to put CBS reality shows in the rearview mirror so he could try something new on a different network.
“Of course, I love CBS, that’s where I got my start, and I have been loyal to ’em for a lot of years,” Mariano tells Deadline. “But throughout the years I’ve done projects for other outlets. I did a pilot for the History Channel, I worked for the Sci-Fi channel. At...

Claudia Jordan is a breakout fan favorite on the new Deal or No Deal Island, and fans cannot get enough of her.
Claudia speaks her mind and is an asset on Deal or No Deal Island because of her experience in the regular version of Deal or No Deal.
As previously reported on Monsters and Critics, Claudia was a briefcase model in Seasons 1-4 of Deal or No Deal. She led the other models with style and ease.
Claudia has had many jobs as an entertainer, from roles as a model on The Price is Right to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. But perhaps her favorite one is talk show host.
She did a brief stint on a self-entitled talk show, The Claudia Jordan Show and Friends, and seems to be looking to revisit that career. It would be an excellent choice for her.

When "Frasier" returned for a neither remarkable nor disappointing revival series in 2023, several things about the beloved titular doctor's comeback just felt off. The new incarnation of the sitcom was a fairly harmless and light-hearted affair, peppered with flashes of the sitcom magic that characterized the original show. That initial series ran from 1993 to 2004, becoming one of the greatest sitcoms to ever grace our screens. But while the revival saw star Kelsey Grammer firing on all cylinders and gave us a season finale that stacked up nicely against previous Christmas episodes, the supporting cast just wasn't ever going to be able to live up to the original ensemble. All of which made for a revival show that felt kind of like "Frasier," but not quite.
Adding to that uncanny feeling was the fact that "Frasier" 2023 also lacked something of the visual magic of the original. It's perhaps unfair to compare...

A new episode of The Traitors 2 featured a huge fight between Big Brother and Survivor legends.
Two-time Survivor winner Sandra Diaz-Twine is part of The Traitors 2 cast.
Fellow Survivor winner Parvati Shallow joined her at the Scotland castle. Much like the first season of The Traitors, this one has two Survivor alums.
Cirie Fields and Stephenie Lagrossa Kendrick played in the first season, along with Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly from Big Brother.
Cirie also won The Traitors Season 1, using her cunning to outplay everyone else in that cast.
Recently, Arie Luyendyk Jr. from The Bachelor said Cirie played “dirty” in a new statement about The Traitors.
Janelle Pierzina calls out Sandra Diaz-Twine

The 40th Sundance Film Festival kicks off Thursday in snow-covered Park City, Utah. In the wake of twin strikes and an indie biz still recovering from the Covid pandemic, it’s difficult to read how hungry buyers are for films that are mostly light on starpower and an overtly commercial premise.
For instance, the buzziest title seems to be Love Me, because it stars Kristen Stewart and freshly minted Emmy-winning Beef star Steven Yeun. But it is a completely execution-dependent premise — long after humanity’s extinction, a buoy and a satellite meet online and fall in love. Two fine actors, but neither is a giant theatrical So there could be competition for this one, but buyers will be coming in cold and, as one veteran fest buyer said, “it’s like every other movie here. Let’s see what you got.”
