A Well-made doc that is unflinching history, ofyen overlooked

This is valuable material; especially if interested in the period of what was called 'the Age of Discovery.' As a kid I read the sanitized story of Imperialism but mostly the English, then American progress at the expense of Africans. The symbol of floating hands is still THERE as a stain on the legacy of Leopold. And Belgium. As heartless as the English, French, Spanish & Portuguese. The legacy still haunts the Congo & the world. Well titled: honest, horrible, still not known enough. Forget fables. Africans are writing History their honest history now. Find them. I recommend this as a primer to more documents & books. Glad its on platforms to see.

I couldn't stop watching.

I'm amazed at friends who want to visit Africa & have their picture taken on an elephant. This story is about the Congo a country rich in cobalt, copper, diamond, tantalum, tin, gold, oil & rubber. Belgium's King made vast fortunes plundering these resources using the Congolians for slaves. A story that has been whitewashed to hide the crimes against the people. The U. S. & the news have been complicit in denying this brutal history while amassing fortunes.
