The birth of hope in place of despair
The_Murdoc29 October 2007
Yet another film from Anjan Dutta where the central part is the Anglo Indian Community of Kolkata, it tells their story that is Now.

The current changing scenario in Kolkata and the long wish of the Anglo Indian community to return to their root which has been told in many Indian Cinema...........The questions that come to mind are- what is the root? What will they identify as their root? The movie never left Bow Barracks except to show an accident. Yes the whole movie was made inside and just outside the building. The powerful and fast story never let us feel that.

Most of the characters did their job well, but above all the director Anjan Dutta impressed us as always. The style of revealing the angle of views of the characters of the same place, at the same time is really impressive.

As anymore writing can turn this comment to a spoiler..........so the conclusion is that it is a 'must watch' movie.

The worst film I've seen....EVER.
Ocean_star30 July 2007
Be warned! This is not a film...its a collection of bad actors. It boggles my mind how anyone can ever make such a bad film. The worst acting I've ever seen.

Nice cinematography, good grading. Good location. Thats pretty much the only thing good about this film. The music is terrible. Sound design is non-existent. Clayton Rodgers (Bradly Lobo) is the worst actor to have appeared on screen. He makes a 5 year old school play actor look like an Academy award nominee. I hate my friends for making me sit through this 'film'. Its a painful 118 mins....right from the first scene till the last. Its a pointless ramble that goes nowhere. I don't know what the director is trying to show through this film.

Good plot but bad treatment

Well another good attempt by Anajan Dutta. The set is original and beautiful. The camera was excellent, powerful actors like Lilette Dubey, Victor Banerjee, Sabyasachi Chakraborty. Till now every thing seems to be good. But personally I think the script was very weak and the direction was not up-to the standard. New comers like Clayton Rodgers is a horrible actor without any expression. Other than that misuse/forceful inclusion of intimate scenes seems to be very important to the parallel Bengali films. Without this a film is not considered to be complete. But even that is not portrayed nicely. Specially the scene where Clayton Rodgers (Bradly Lobo) is shown with his underwear falling off after having sex with Anne (Neha Dubey). This was very funny to me. Either show him null naked or do not show anything. Either be bold and brave or do not attempt. Better not to be hypocrite.

Overall good to watch once.
