"You People" is the latest comedy to take over Netflix. The movie - which features the star-studded cast of Jonah Hill, Lauren London, Eddie Murphy, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus - is about a young couple named Amira and Ezra who want to get married but are hoping to get their parents' approval first. Since they come from two very different backgrounds, that's easier said than done.
If you've already watched the film, you probably recognize London from movies like "Atl," "I Love You, Beth Cooper," "This Christmas," and, more recently, "Without Remorse." Her TV credits also include shows like "The Game," "Games People Play," and "True Story."
Outside of her acting career, London prefers to keep her personal life private, though she has been in a few public relationships over the years. Since entering the spotlight in the early 2000s, she's dated some famous musicians, with her most recent relationship being with the late Nipsey Hussle.

Good music can time travel. Aaliyah Dana Haughton was fifteen years old in 1994, when she released her cover of the Isley Brothers “(At Your Best) You Are Love.” The song debuted in 1976, almost three years before Aaliyah was born. In young adulthood, she’d take what was then a modest success for the Isleys and turn it into one of her biggest hits. Even after her tragic death in 2001, Aaliyah’s rendition spanned generations. It soundtracked the teenage love affair in the 2006 cult classic film Atl. It was taken on...

It’s hard to believe that after more than 20 years in Hollywood, Taraji P. Henson (“Hidden Figures”) is only just now headlining her first big-screen comedy, but here we are. Director Adam Shankman’s “What Men Want” is the latest in a long line of gender- and race-swapping remakes (“Ocean’s 8” and “Ghostbusters” are a few others) that Hollywood has determined to make its new cash cow.
So on the one hand, it’s great that Henson has this major vehicle that will hopefully catapult her to the status she deserves. But on the other hand, an actress of her caliber should also be entitled to an original franchise of her own.
All that aside, “What Men Want” is a classic example of a film that is amplified by the climate in which it’s born. Contrary to the original 2000 film starring Mel Gibson — which sees him as a sexist...
