Former American Idol contestant Joanne Borgella Ramirez has died of a rare form of cancer. Her family made the announcement Saturday morning on the singer's Facebook page, and suggest she was suffering from endometrial cancer, which attacks the lining of the uterus, and then spread to her chest. Borgella first became famous for winning Mo'nique's Fat Chance, a beauty pageant for plus-size women which launched her career as a plus-size model. Then she appeared on the seventh season of American Idol and made it onto the show as part of the top 24. Here's a clip of her performance of "I Say a Little Prayer" on the show.

Oxygen development executive Kristen Connolly Vadas is in negotiations to join the CW as senior vp alternative programming.
As head of the CW's reality department, Vadas will succeed Jennifer Bresnan, who left in August to take the same position at sister network CBS.
Vadas will shepherd the CW's existing reality franchises, including the long-running hit "America's Next Top Model," and the development of new unscripted series, reporting to CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff.
Vadas most recently served as vp development at Oxygen, where she played a key part in building the cable network's reality and scripted slate with such series as "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," "The Bad Girls Club," "Girls Behaving Badly," "Mo'Nique's Fat Chance," "Campus Ladies" and the new series "Coolio's Rules."...
