Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford has obtained a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband after accusing him of following and threatening her.
The actress alleges Daniel Giersch has been regularly trailing her, her mother and nanny to "show up unexpectedly to threaten and scare us", according to the order filed at Los Angeles Superior Court.
The documents include a statement from Rutherford's mother, Ann Edwards, who claims the German businessman once arrived at a restaurant where she was eating with the couple's two-year-old son, Hermes, and blocked them from leaving the establishment.
Rutherford's nanny also maintains she has quit working for the family because of Giersch's aggressive behaviour, accusing him of threatening to sue her after she refused to answer questions about Rutherford.
An attorney for Giersch has refuted the claims, adding, "Daniel will remain focused on co-parenting both of their children and not make any personal comments in order to continue to protect the children's need for privacy and wellbeing."
The couple is in the middle of a messy divorce and custody battle over Hermes and three-month-old daughter Helena.
A hearing is set for 15 October.

Dennis Quaid's sister-in-law is facing a restraining order from a private investigator she hired to spy on her actor husband's castmates in a Broadway production of Lone Star Love.
Hollywood private eye Becky Altringer claims Evi Quaid employed her services in June after she and her husband Randy Quaid received a death threat against them.
Legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court state Altringer was hired "to investigate possible insurance fraud and (a) threat to their lives".
According to RadarOnline.com, Evi allegedly told Altringer to quiz the cast of Lone Star Love in an attempt to find out who was responsible for the threats.
The investigator claims, "(Evi) demanded that I harass the individuals who were part of the Broadway play, Lone Star Love, because they signed a document making allegations against Randy Quaid."
Quaid, who also starred in Brokeback Mountain, was booted from the Actors' Equity Association in February 2008 after he was accused by all 26 members of Lone Star Love of physically and verbally abusing them.
Evi is thought to have suspected one of Quaid's former colleagues of making the death threat.
But the professional relationship between Altringer and her clients soon soured and she quit working for Evi and Randy Quaid at the end of June.
Altringer, who is also suing the couple for $19,000 (£12,665) in outstanding fees, went on to call into question Evi's state of mind after reportedly witnessing her snort a white powder, which the actor's wife claimed was migraine medication Demerol.
She states, "I observed Evi's paranoia increase and she was convinced someone was going to murder Randy and then Evi to make it look like murder/suicide. I was concerned because of the Demerol use and Evi was becoming mentally unstable."
A ruling on the restraining order has yet to be made.

Yesterday in court, Chris Brown's punishment was made official: The singer cannot have any contact with former girlfriend Rihanna for a period of five years. The "stay away" order requires that he keep a distance of 100 yards from her at all times, unless they are at an industry event together, where the distance is reduced to 10 yards. Judge Patricia Schnegg made it clear to Brown that the order was mandated by the court and was not up to either he or Rihanna, but that she could look into options in order to try to modify it (though that could prove legally difficult).
Both are big stars and have a long, convoluted past, so it will be interesting to see how close to the law Brown stays for the duration of the order. We decided to hit the streets to ask fans what they thought about the order and whether or not Brown would break it.

Lutfi is ordered to stay away from Britney and both her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, for three years. Lutfi and Jon Eardley are not allowed to go within 100 yards of her home, job or workplace. They were also ordered to stay away from K-Fed's...

After three hours of closing arguments Tuesday, no ruling was made on whether to extend a restraining order against Britney Spears's ex-manager Sam Lutfi and attorney Jon Eardley. The singer's father Jamie, who initially filed the request on Jan. 30, alleges that both men have continuously harassed his daughter, adding that Lutfi smuggled a cell phone to her at a hotel.Samuel Ingham, a court-appointed lawyer for the pop star, 27, told Judge Aviva Bobb, "My client's situation has improved dramatically over the last 14 months. [A permanent restraining order against them] is in my client's best interest ... She has suffered emotional distress." Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for Lutfi,...

More legal woos for Britney Spears! The lawyer she allegedly hired to help her fight her conservatorship case has demanded that she take the stand to justify the restraining order against him. Remember the name Jon Eardley? Well he works closely with Sam Lutfi (we know you remember that name!) and he claimed that Britney hired him to free her from her conservatorship. The problem was Britney wasn't allowed to hire an attorney. Only her father Jamie and court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet had the power to hire a lawyer. So the judge threw out the case and Jamie...

Yesterday Lindsay Lohan acknowledged that she and Samantha Ronson are taking a brief break, but the Ronson family seems to be treating the split far more seriously. Ann Dexter-Jones and Charlotte Ronson went to a police station yesterday to look into filing a restraining order against Lindsay. They say she was acting erratic after being banned from the Ronson party last Friday and claim she was doing drugs and getting physical with Samantha and Charlotte's brother Mark. LL apparently responded to the news of the restraining order very badly, and while some reports say she has no communication with Samantha, others sources say they are still talking. Meanwhile, none of it stopped Lindsay from hitting the town with her friends and mother last night. It sounds like an emotional situation for both girls, and hopefully things will settle down once they get some time apart. wireimage.com//...

"They were directed to the court to get a restraining order," Beverly Hills Sgt. Nutall told Us Magazine on Monday, April 6.
Previously, Lindsay Lohan was banned to get into the "I Heart Ronson" bash for celebrating Charlotte's clothing line at Bar Marmont in West Hollywood on Friday, April 3. Security was told to forbid the 22-year-old beauty from entering the venue. The "I Know Who Killed Me" star then responded the snub by criticizing Sam and Charlotte in Twitter. Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Jamie Spears' attorney Blair Berk and Sam Lutfi's sister Christina appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom yesterday afternoon, each giving different accounts as to whether Britney is in favor of a restraining order being issued against Lutfi. "[Britney] told me she wanted to get a hold of Sam. She wanted him to help her find a lawyer, and wanted someone to get a prepaid cell phone to her. She was scared because her father was blackmailing her with visitation rights over her kids," Lutfi's sister told the court. Britney reportedly called Sam in mid-January to speak with Christina, and the two arranged a meeting at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 16. Britney was able to escape her bodyguard for a clandestine meeting in the hotel's sauna. It was then that Christina gave Britney a cell phone, saying it was from Sam and ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
