Sex & Nudity

  • No Nudity whatsoever. Zero. None. Nada.
  • The movie includes a few non-graphic scenes of sexual content. These are:
  • A scene early in the film between two characters, where they have sex. No nudity is shown, but the sexual motions, expressions and noises are quite obvious.
  • A scene that is fully clothed, but takes place post-coitally and includes a conversation on the sex the characters have just had.
  • An oral sex scene shown in wide shot. There is no nudity, and a discretion object blocks the view of the act itself.
  • A dream sequence in which two female characters are shown nude and holding each other from a distance. There are no visible breasts or genitalia. The camera zooms in to show the two women kiss briefly.
  • There are also many verbal references throughout the film to sex and sexual acts.

Violence & Gore

  • There are a few different scenes with implicit and explicit violence, where the sound effects of the violence may be unsettling for some viewers, and where there is a great deal of blood. This includes three physical fights and one dream sequence of a murder.

Profanity

  • There is a great deal of profanity, more than can easily be tallied here.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is frequent cigarette smoking and beer drinking, including one scene in which a minor (the character is stated to be seventeen) consumes alcohol purchased for her by an older character.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A fist fight in the first ten minutes of the movie, with many repeated and loud blows, and quite a bit of blood, may be intense or frightening for a young child. The same warning applies for a later scene, in which a character is battered--though that scene is much shorter.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The scene in which the titular Zelda Sparks is killed is intense, with a lot of blood, and while very little of it is actually shown, what is shown may be disturbing for some, as it includes a man briefly battering a woman and has some heavily implied mutilation with a pair of wire cutters and a hacksaw.
