Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • In the game, players are required to wield pliable objects from the environment (metal pipes, wooden planks, shovels, etc.) and engage in melee combat with various enemies, throughout. Players also have firearms available to them at select points throughout the game.
  • The aftermaths of several disturbing and/or grisly murders are seen by the player at various points in the game.
  • The player is required to investigate and scan forensic evidence, and investigations are often accompanied by hallucinations that feature violent/brutal imagery.
  • When enemies are shot with firearms, the player is able to see some blood and gore spattered on the environment directly behind them.
  • Players can perform brutal "finishing moves" on enemies that have been rendered to their knees, and range from punching an enemy in the face to slamming their heads into the ground.
  • Sometimes, during combat, the player can knock out an enemy's teeth.

Profanity

  • Very aggressive and strong language is heard frequently throughout the game, from both enemies and sometimes, from the player character.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • It's implied that some of the enemies in the game are drug addicts.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Throughout the game are run-down, dirty, and/or abandoned environments (such as office buildings, subways, sewers, and so on) that feature minimal to non-existent lighting, forcing the player to rely on a small beam of light from a flashlight in order to see. This can create a claustrophobic effect, as the game is littered with smart enemies that the player is forced to defend themselves from using objects pried from the environment.
  • The player can perform brutal "finishing moves" on enemies.
  • Murder, insanity, and brutality are primary themes of the game, and are meant for frightening, disturbing, and intense effect, as the player is forced to investigate a trail of violence left behind by a serial killer in hostile environments throughout the game.
  • Scenes in the game also feature jump scares that can be triggered without warning.
  • Enemies throughout the game can be frightening to the player, as they often display a violent and insane nature, and can attack the player with little to no warning beforehand.
  • Enemies are grotesque in appearance. As their living conditions, and in some cases drug abuse, have ruined their bodies.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Certain enemies seen in the game feature self-mutilations, ranging from deep scars on the face of some, to the grafting of mannequin parts on the skins of others, which can be violently removed by the player during combat.
  • The final battle in the game features an enemy that must be dispatched by first disabling them, then, via context menu, violently removing metal parts that have been grafted onto their skin.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • SKX or Leland Vanhorn, can be seen smoking in a hallucination. The cigarette butt can be found by the player on the floor soon after.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Scenes in the game often feature violent/disturbing imagery. A good example of this would be when a man is found by the player in a locker severely mutilated and drenched in blood, then is revealed to be alive. This may disturb/frighten the player.
