Bill Cosby hired non-professional child actors for the voices of Fat Albert's gang. But the children's performances were stiff. Cosby helped loosen them up by arm-wrestling and playing football in the studio with them.
This television movie only aired twice. After the release of the television series, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids (1972), it was never televised again as it was then sold to the Paley Center for Media.
