- Hanson and Penhall work as body guards protecting a popular young actor that has received threatening letters. Drug dealer Tyrell "Waxer" Thompson escapes from prison and goes after Hanson for revenge.
- A movie studio overpaying in city permits requests City Hall forces Jumpstreet Chapel to deploy Officers Tom Hanson (Johnny Depp) and Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise) to undercover bodyguard a teen idol/movie star named Jeremy Woods (Tom Bresnahan) shooting a cliche' teen angst movie in the area. The assignment for Hanson and Penhall was essentially to "keep Jeremy out of trouble" and to lead block from potential stalkers as well as gaggles of vapid broads.
During the filming a prison transport bus cruising through the area crashes and juvie prisoner Tyrell "Waxer" Thompson (Reginald T. Dorsey) escapes. "Waxer" finds his way upon the movie set as an extra after seeing Hanson's news footage restraining Woods from a temper tantrum with his director on TV. "Waxer" just so happens to be Hanson's first bust from the Jumpstreet undercover narc high school program (pilot episode). In that bust Hanson apprehended and humiliated "Waxer" in a good ol fashion foot chase and street fight in the pilot's climax which still haunts "Waxer". "Waxer" then sets out for revenge and plots to take Hanson down for good with a kidnapped Jeremy Woods along for the ride as collateral leverage.
A couple of side notes for you Jumpstreetophiles. Shannon Tweed (Gene Simmons FAMILY JEWELS, PLAYBOY and "Skinamax" 4am empress) plays Woods agent and has a crush on Penhall. And Tony Todd (CANDY-MAN and co-starred with Johnny Depp in PLATOON) plays a CO in the juvie lock-up gets an actual goober on his face in a scene where he administers tough love. Todd answers the goober with one of the best back hand bitch slaps this man has ever seen on "Waxer".
Also for you legions of Deppophiles in the Peter DeLuise commentary on this very episode he candidly offers that Tom Bresnahan (Jeremy Woods) and others complained to producers that Johnny Depp (and DeLuise) were "too rough" with the guest actors in the action/fight sequences on a fairly regular basis for authenticity purposes. Another cute fact one of the directors on this episode was none other than Kevin Hooks who played "Thorpe" from THE WHITE SHADOW.
