The old fraternity
bkoganbing31 March 2017
This episode of 77 Sunset Strip finds Roger Smith going undercover as a college student. He's rather old for the part and clearly this was an episode where if he was available they would have sent Edd Byrnes in. It's explained by saying he had been in the military and was getting education a bit late. Louis Quinn comes along too, getting a job at the local hangout as a short order cook and to hear the gossip.

The gossip is quite a lot and the case Jeff Spencer is on involves the death of a college kid, was it murder, suicide, or accident that had the deceased drive off a cliff.

That the college wanted to avoid a scandal is one thing. But there seems to be a conspiracy of sorts to throw the whole thing on Gary Vinson who is something of an oddball loner in the place. Diane McBain is in the cast playing her usual tramp type.

What's it all about, you watch the episode for. But I think you will be pleased.

Back to school for Jeff...
searchanddestroy-122 December 2015
You find here some elements you had in Rob Cohen's SKULL... speaking of college fraternity circles, sort of sects where students are monitored by some kind of gurus...Secret society reserved to the elite and where the members have to prove their skills with the most dangerous trials.

So, when the court pronounced the accidental death after a college student died, the parents hire Jeff to find out what really happened to their son. With his young looking appearance, our gumshoe will have not great difficulties to be accepted in the college, among the other teenagers and football players, where the diseased was from... Nothing much, in this investigation scheme, but I remember that there has already been such a " back to college" topic in this series; I don't exactly which episode.
