In one scene the microphone cord is looped behind the radio, in the next scene its coming down from in front of the radio.
Reed violated LAPD policy by discussing an active case with Donin, for exactly one of the many reasons officers aren't supposed to, it could possibly make them a target if a suspect or perp should learn too much information and then decide to kill any witness or possible witnesses.
Reed and Malloy get pinned down when they are trying to transport a woman to the hospital to donate blood to her brother for an operation due to their rare blood type. However, there is no explanation for why the boy can't accept the "O neg" blood type, since that is what is known as the universal donor blood type, and presumably acceptable for the boy.
A sniper shoots at Reed and Malloy when they pick up an emergency blood donor delivered by helicopter to a local airport, preparing to drive her to the hospital where her brother needs her rare blood type. But it is never explained why the donor wasn't just flown directly to the hospital, especially if it is such an emergency.
However, this took place 50 years ago, when hospitals did not automatically have heliports and the capacity to accept patients coming in by helicopter.

If Reed is being specifically targeted by an unknown gunman, it seems it would make sense to remove him from the field then to continue risking his and Malloy's life at every unknown call. Better yet, he and his wife in protective custody.
Malloy tells the blood donor to "get in the car and stay down" when she was already (at that moment) as safe as she could be behind the whole car vice laying in the backseat with just one door for cover.
Once the police discover the sniper is specifically listening in and tracking Adam 12 on police radio frequencies, they would discreetly change their call sign at least temporarily until the sniper was apprehended.
A close-up of Malloy as he looks up from behind the car door, after he, the woman, and Reed got shot at, reveals that he's wearing what appears to be dark mascara.
After the sniper's first attempt, the officers find the shell casings he left behind that identity the weapon as a .30-06 rifle. Malloy remarks, "Must have been an automatic. Six shots in three seconds." But a careful analysis of the attack reveals that only five shots were fired.
