After Harald George Goames has stolen a car, he corrects the car theft statistics in his almanac with a ballpoint pen. However, in the next shot, the statistics page can be seen again with the page uncorrected.
When Goames opens the almanac to look up the crime statistics, it's about one third into the book in most shots But not exactly at the same spot, and the final time he opens the book, he finds the same page closer to two thirds into it.
The almanac lists 208,640 auto thefts in 1956 and 226,530 in 1957 for an increase of 17,892. This is actually an increase of 17,890.
