- [Bat buys a map of the Superstition Mountains]
- Barkeep: It isn't complete, but it takes you in the right direction.
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: No wonder our friends got lost.
- Barkeep: But I'm warning you - people that go into the Superstitions don't ever come back.
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: Oh, we will. If we don't find our friends, you've given us a great incentive to return.
- Mr. Smith: I'm afraid your men took the wrong trail and were killed by Indians, like so many misguided souls.
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: Misguided or misdirected?
- Allesandro: I think both our friends are here but, unfortunately, we cannot seek them. That dog in there is armed to the teeth.
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: Let's hope Bruno is open to bribery.
- Allesandro: I do not think that dog knows the value of money, but even so, where would he spend it?
- Angelita: Mr. Masterson, how did you know he would take your commands?
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: I didn't, but dogs have a pretty strong sense of justice.
- Angelita: Steve!
- [Angelita and Steve embrace]
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: Well, Steve, I see you really struck it rich... and I can't think of a way to share.
- Allesandro: We would like a little information.
- Barkeep: Ah, sure sure! Anything!
- William Barclay 'Bat' Masterson: Do you have a map that would show us where to find the nearest U.S. Marshal?

- Narrator: Tucson, Arizona Territory - 1884. Many men risked their lives in the forbidding Superstition Mountains, north of Tucson, to search for the fabled Lost Dutchman's Mine. Among them was Bat Masterson, the man who became a legend in his own time.
