- [Bat descends the stairs in the hotel lobby and approaches Emma Colton, who is working the registration desk]
- Bat Masterson: Thanks, Emma. Never could've worked without you.
- Emma Colton: Thank you, Bat. It's the only time I ever wore a wedding dress.
- [Emma tries to give the wedding dress to Bat, but he refuses it]
- Bat Masterson: It's yours.
- Emma Colton: Mine?
- Bat Masterson: That's right. Next time you'll wear it for keeps.
- Emma Colton: I don't think I'll ever really wear one. Bat, I just give men keys to a room. But, they never offer me one to a home.
- Bat Masterson: We'll see about that.
- [Bat takes a deck of cards from his pocket and pulls out the jack of hearts]
- Bat Masterson: You'll be married in a year.
- Emma Colton: Who says so?
- Bat Masterson: The cards.
- Emma Colton: Bat, what about you?
- Bat Masterson: Me? Awright.
- [Bat looks at a few cards, but does not remove a card from the deck]
- Bat Masterson: No such luck.
- Emma Colton: No such luck.
- [Bat exits the hotel]
