The car Evel Knievel drives in the final scene was actually his personally owned 1976 Stutz Blackhawk. Many celebrities in the 1970's owned these cars including Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Elton John.
This episode aired on November 5, 1977, just nine days prior to Evel Knievel being sentenced to 6 months in jail for beating his former press agent Sheldon Saltman (who wrote a book about Knievel he did not like) with a baseball bat.
Evel Knievel's perpetual anxiety about getting back to Berlin and being on time for his performance there is an obvious reference to his legendary conscientiousness about always "keeping his word", regardless of the difficulties or dangers involved in the promised action.
