Surprising ending
mitchrmp27 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, we have two men that are pretty much fighting over a woman. Peter Warren is married to her, and Lee Coogan doesn't think he deserves her. Following the death of Mary Warren's aunt, Lee accuses Peter of murdering her.

The ending was very surprising to me!

WARNING: I'M SPOILING THE ENDING HERE, SO DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET!!!

I must say that I was quite surprised at this ending. I really didn't think Peter was guilty. The way Lee acted, it almost seemed like he was trying to frame Peter for the murder. This isn't the first time I've watched this, and I remember thinking that to be the case last time. So it was quite a shock when I learned that the facts were straight all along!

In all, one person died and two were wounded. One man was arrested.

Client: Peter Warren

Warning: Spoilers
It opens with the death of an elderly woman and then her house is burnt down.

The main suspect is Peter Warren. The whole town seems to think he is guilty, the chorus led by Lee Coogan. Peter's estranged wife Mary is not sure of his innocence.

The dead woman was Mary's aunt, she disliked Peter Warren. Now Mary will inherit everything. What is her's is also now Peter's. He seems to have cooled on the divorce.

Although Clay Culhane is dealing with Mary's divorce. He is acting for Peter's defence. Maybe he was fitted up by Lee Coogan, he seems to be sweet on Mary as well.

Well this almost never happened on Perry Mason. All the evidence points to Peter Warren as being the aunt's murderer as he seems to have no answers to his guilt. An effective twist.
