In the scene where Howard is alone in his apartment and sad that Ellen is getting married, he turns on the record player. On the Shout! Factory DVD, the original song that plays is an instrumental version of the jazz standard "As Time Goes By", and Howard begins to sing along. In the streaming service Hulu's version, the song is replaced by a generic saxophone ballad, and Howard's singing is muted...apparently to avoid music copyright issues.
First appearance of Bob's sister Ellen Hartley. She would become a semi-regular character the following season.
When Ellen is introduced by her mother, she is introduced as Ellen Marie Hartley. However, later when looking at wedding invitations, her middle name changes to Inez, to which Howard cracks up and Ellen says if you had a middle name like that you wouldn't tell anyone either
