The opening episode for the 6th season was disappointing enough......then came this episode. I know that it has been years since this episode was initially aired, but I couldn't shake the feeling that--even when it first aired--it must have struck many people as quite unfunny.
Okay. I confess that I stopped watching network television by the 1980s, so I really don't know if African American sitcom stuff continued to be handled the way this episode handled it.I found the interactions between psychologist Bob and the black inmates to be, simply, very boring comedy. Typical yuck-yuck (but corny "hip" at the same time) comments by the inmates, and typical Dr. Hartley rejoinders.
From what I've seen of this season so far, the show appears to be worn out. Sad, because season 5 had a decent bit going for it.
