The Cartwright family and its usual problems take a back seat in this episode of Bonanza which concentrates on the dancing talents of Barrie Chase which are sadly being wasted in a saloon.
Barrie Chase and Douglas Fowley are a father and daughter team of entertainers, he plays the fiddle, she dances. But when Fowley breaks his fiddling arm in a saloon altercation, Dan Blocker invites them to the Ponderosa while Fowley mends. There they meet Warren Stevens who is now a gunsmith, but at one time a top ballet dancer who was crippled in an accident and now no longer dances. How he learned the gunsmith trade is anyone's guess because those are professions that usually don't go together.
Stevens makes Chase see the possibilities of real stardom and of course there's a romance going. For Barrie Chase who arrived too late for Hollywood musicals, this a chance to display her talents. Not a bad episode from Bonanza, a more unusual one at that.
