- After inheriting £600 from his recently deceased Auntie Olga, Richie and Eddie head off down the funfair where Richie's wallet gets stolen, and he learns from a fortune-teller that he is to die in 72 hours. Eddie and Richie set out to prevent Richie's fate, and there is a visit by the Grim Reaper, strangely in the form of Eddie.—Daniel Williamson
- Richie has asked for some money from his Aunt Olga, they killed the Goldfish to prove they're so poor they're using it as food, Richie calls his Aunt but the servant answers saying Aunt Olga has died, her will leaves £600 to Richie. Eddie and Richie go to a carnival to celebrate, Eddie asks for another round but he has to pay, Richie offers to pay but someone has stolen his wallet, he blames the stallholder and some nearby customers for the theft, Richie goes to get a policeman but he's held up and threatened until the stallholder is paid.
Eddie offers double or quits if he shoots a target with one bullet, instead he shoots the stallholder in the eye and they make a run for it, they hide in a fortune tellers tent and Richie asks for a fortune until it's safe to leave. She asks payment, he has no money and insist on a free fortune or he'll call immigration (even though she's an Englishwoman) she knows a great deal about Richie, his driving licence is fake for one thing.
He still wants a fortune told and offers his watch, according to her Richie will die in three nights. Richie hurries himself to a hospital for a health check and after accidentally insulting a heart surgeon he is declared well. Feeling rejuvenated he goes to leave via the elevator which he doesn't notice is out of order, he helps an elderly wheelchair-bound man in first and drops him down the shaft. Richie realizes he will die from an accident not illness.
Richie has made a bunker under the living room sofa and hid under it for three days, he hasn't eaten either, making Eddie test everything for poison. Richie is fed up of hiding and wants to go the bathroom, he walks into the living room door and retreats under the sofa. He spots the ceiling above him is sagging dangerously, it's Eddie's piano, Richie orders him to move it. Eddie goes upstairs.
With Eddie gone, Richie prays to God offering Eddie's life over his, he is constantly interrupted by Eddie's piano playing, when he goes to the door and orders Eddie back down the piano falls through the ceiling with Eddie, right on Richie's hiding spot. Richie believes Eddie conspired to kill him and take his inheritance, he throws Eddie out with the aid of a fire poker.
Richie goes to bed and he hears footsteps outside his room, he grabs a cricket bat believing Eddie to be sneaking in, he opens the door and Death is standing there, horrified, Richie backs into the bedroom window and sees the moon is up and his time has come. Richie doesn't realize that Death is Eddie on stilts, and begs for his life, asking to play games for it such as Chess, Death/Eddie claims not to know the rules (Untrue for both of them), not Cluedo because Richie cheats, but he will play I Spy, Richie wins.
Death/Eddie lets Richie live in exchange for the inheritance, a porn magazine in Richie's possession and letting Eddie live in the flat again. Richie accepts and as Death/Eddie leaves he falls down the stairs breaking his stilts. Richie is furious and goes to hit Eddie but is interrupted by a knock at the door which is blown off its hinges by a familiar figure, the now one-eyed stallholder.
He has Richie's wallet, the fortune teller stole it from him which is how she knew of him, the stallholder takes the inheritance to pay for an eye operation, along with the porn magazine, and even takes Richie's offer to kick Eddie in the groin.
