Ash is Evil?
Johnny_West19 December 2023
So after several episodes of building up Ash (Teri Polo) as a supporting character, it turns out that she is an evil demon. How did she become a detective in the course of a few weeks since escaping from hell? Did she take over some other detectives identity?

Was the original Ash killed by Teri Polo so she could take her identity? The story never tells you any of the backstory that would make this credible. To me, it was like an episode of TV wrestling, where suddenly the good tag-team partner turns heel and attacks his friend. Just bogus on many levels.

One of the big flaws of Brimstone was that Stone had no supporting characters. John Glover as the devil was mostly an antagonist to Stone.

The blind priest, played by Albert Hall, could have been a great source of help or wisdom, but Stone always treated him like crap. When the priest showed up at Stone's apartment, Stone immediately tossed him out. It seemed very confusing. Why even have the priest show up in the episode if Stone blows him off?

That left Lori Petty is the only recurring character, and she just played the crazy pal, which is the only acting role she is capable of.

Turning Ash from friend to evil foe was a big miss, especially since she was very credible as a police detective.
