This is the third episode which centers on the Monahan family and the father's unwillingness to bend and accept the inevitable. It seems that the daughter who married against her father's will a few episodes ago is now contemplating moving to California with her new hubby. The Silver family want to throw them a going away party but Mr. Monahan is unwilling to attend...a victim of his own misplaced values. Through the course of the episode, the party continues and Mr. Monahan talks about his concerns with Cousin Jacob (Joel Grey). Ultimately, Monahan must decide what to do next.
This is a very moving episode of "Brooklyn Bridge"...a show which could be very funny or sad. This certainly isn't one of the funny episodes....and is quite sad but ends well.
