This is an important episode for George and Phyllis Silver. George is in a funk because following his parents' death, he and his siblings have kept their parent's summer home in the Catskills*. But now his sibs have had enough and want to sell the old place...and George is saddened about letting go of the place and all the memories associated with it. As for Phyllis, she's in line for a promotion but she ends up getting far more than she hoped for...and it leaves her wondering whether to take the promotion or not.
This is a very sentimental episode of "Brooklyn Bridge" and well worth seeing. Nothing earth-shattering here...just enjoyable family entertainment.
*During the decades before the Civil Rights movement and major social changes, many resorts and vacation spots were off limits to Jewish people...and signs and rules saying "No Jews" were sadly not too uncommon. As a result, Jewish folks wanting vacations banded together and created many resorts outside of New York City up in the Catskills Mountains. As time passed, more and more of these places closed as integration was becoming the law and the norm.
