- Johnny is an Indian scout who guides a widow in a military escort to the stage in Globe. They are given safe passage through Indian burial grounds by Chief Chato but only Johnny believes it is a trap that may lead to all their deaths.
- After a deputy is killed, a military escort led by Lt. Jackson but guided by Indian scout Johnny Brassbuttons is taking the widow and her companion to Globe to meet the stagecoach. They are forced by treaty to go around Apache land even though a pass through their land would cut a couple of days off the trip. The dust is bothering the companion. They meet Cheyenne who because of his blood brother heritage is allowed to take the pass. Apache leader Chato with a group of braves meets the escort. Upon seeing that Johnny's wife White Bird is with the group, he offers Jackson the use of the pass even though Johnny disagrees with the decision. Under threat of court-martial Johnny leads the group into the pass where they are attacked. Johnny is not killed but knocked out. Cheyenne finds him, buries the bodies and takes him to the fort where he is court-martialled. After escaping Cheyenne goes after evidence to clear him and is followed by two lawmen wanting revenge for the death of the widow.—Anonymous
