Mike Road's voice was dubbed over the credited Jackson Halliday's voice as Pastor Morgan. He was not credited for this role. No reason has surfaced to explain why Warner Brothers used Road's voice rather than the credited actor.
As was the custom for Warner Brothers Westerns, several actors had appeared on other WB Westerns, notably Lawman (1958), which had ended a year earlier. Shorty, played by Dan Sheridan was a regular playing barkeep Jake, appearing 41 times. Sam, played by Robert McQueeney appeared in Lawman 4 times. Jingles, played by Richard Reeves and Drifter, played by Joseph Gallison each appeared three times. Cyrus, played by Denver Pyle appeared twice. Deputy Smith, played by Owen Orr and Nestor, played by Brad Weston appeared once, it was Benedicts's first TV role. Sheridan had appeared on Cheyenne three times, and this was his final appearance prior to his death the following year in 1963.
Frank Ferguson, who plays the crippled boy's father, is named Eli in this episode. In just two years, Ferguson would play his most recognizable role to many. He played Eli Carson in the television series Peyton Place for five years.
