Jeannie Linero as Chico's new girl
kevinolzak16 July 2016
"Ms. Liz" introduces Jeannie Linero as Liz Garcia, the girl that Chico intends to marry, her sense of humor making one wish she was retained for the third season (only three other appearances). Dinner at her apartment is served with a genuine Puerto Rican dish, not the food just the dish! (it's the same apartment set used for the Kotter home on James Komack's new hit WELCOME BACK, KOTTER). Ed's honest reaction to Liz's terrible singing finds her crying in the bathroom for the rest of the evening (Ed: "you sure she wasn't singing?"). Chico admits that honesty is not always the best policy, but Ed responds by comparing it to a woman's undies: "truth is like a woman's girdle, the more it hurts the more good it does in the end!" Chico's reaction: "truth sure is like a woman's girdle, sometimes you gotta stretch it a little bit!" Reverend Bemis (Ronny Graham, fourth of nine) arrives in time for Ed's prideful boast to admit when he's wrong: "is it my fault it never happens?"
