Joe Silver as Barlow
kevinolzak16 July 2016
"The Invention" opens with a disheveled Reverend Bemis (Ronny Graham, sixth of nine) walking into the garage, having crashed his cycle Salome at a red light, forgetting to put his feet on the ground. Ed shows him his own creation of training wheels for ultra short motorcyclists, the Reverend's reaction a priceless one: "we both save soles!" Chico is convinced that they're sitting on a gold mine, hoping to patent it with Mr. Barlow (Joe Silver) for Invent-a-Mart, worth perhaps half a million. Louie breaks the news to Ed that the only invention that Barlow has perfected is the ripoff! Being a former carny con man himself, Ed poses as wealthy tycoon Russell in a white suit and beard to buy back his own invention by making Barlow repay the entire amount to become a full partner.
