"Waiting for Chongo" was Julie Hill's second appearance as Monica, still living in Chico's van (this was the only episode that went unaired that final season). Hitchhiking back from an interview with a director, Monica brings in a trio of motorcycle riders who refuse to leave until their leader, Chongo, arrives, holding Ed, Raul, Monica, and Louie hostage in the garage. To their surprise, Chongo (Jeannetta Arnette) turns out to be a woman, just as antisocial as her bikers. Another shock is in store, as Chongo warms up to the adopted family of Ed Brown, a name she remembers from Philadelphia because Chongo turns out to be Ed's niece, Lavinia Pemberton! (he taught his 11 year old niece everything she knows about engines). Curious that Jeannetta Arnette would go unbilled with such a major role, at the start of a still busy career; in fact, this marked her television debut. The most recognizable face among the three bikers is Brion James, a popular villain for three decades from the 70s to the 90s.
