Warning: Spoilers
The circus has a new cat but Jo Jo the monkey manages to let it out of its cage. As if that's not bad enough, Pete gets a telegram, which he can't read, but it says Pete's Uncle Cyrus is coming to visit his nephew, the owner of the circus. Big Tim and Joey and the other decide to play along and pretend Pete is the owner as long as his uncle is about.

When Uncle Cyrus arrives, Pete really steps into the role. And Cyrus wants to learn everything about the circus including going over the books. Cyrus turns out to be a fast study; and Pete manages to stumble through the role of ringmaster. Big Tim tries to teach Pete about the books and itinerary for upcoming shows, but Pete can't figure out anything and when the county tax man shows, Uncle Cyrus saves the day; Cyrus also handles a temperamental performer, Zelda,by convincing her she is selfish. Cyrus tells Pete that he is impressed as seeing how Pete is running the business and Cyrus gives Pete a bad full of money as a reward. When Pete sees the money, he goes power mad and offers to buy the circus. When Pete's cousin shows up, he reveals the the money in the bag is just fake stage money. Now Pete is reduced to being just his old broke self.
