After a suicide attempt, a psychiatrist reveals to the son of a murdered teacher that, contrary to what he had been told by his mother, his father was NOT a drunk and did not desert his family. Rush's team learns that in 1953, favoring integration was equated with Communist sympathies; HUAC had subpoenaed the teacher, he was pressured to identify others as Communists; his wife suspected him of an affair, the family was ostracized, he was suspended by the school. Though 50 years have passed, the cold case squad wants to find out the truth and give his son the will to live.
