  [with a sigh:] 

  Mandy Winger : I waited outside Angelica Nero's hotel all night that night. I didn't leave until the morning.

  [tearfully shakes her head] 

  Mandy Winger : I didn't want it to be true. I didn't think it could be. I thought you loved me.

  J.R. Ewing : I did not sleep with that woman.

  Mandy Winger : Oh, J.R., I was *there.*

  J.R. Ewing : I had too much to drink and too far to drive. I slept on the couch, that's it.

  Mandy Winger : [in tears]  You didn't sleep with her?

  J.R. Ewing : No, I did *not* sleep well her. But that's not the point, is it?

  Mandy Winger : [shakes her head]  No. It's no excuse for what I did.

  [tearfully:] 

  Mandy Winger : Cliff Barnes was the one who told me where to find you that night.

  J.R. Ewing : [nods]  And you listened to that moron?

  Mandy Winger : [through tears]  He told me there was a way to get even.

  J.R. Ewing : [puts down his drink, leans forward, adds in sarcastic tone:]  The spy who came in from the cold.

  Mandy Winger : [through tears]  Oh, J.R., I'm sorry.

  [shakes her head] 

  Mandy Winger : I was crazy. Jealous and crazy. I knew I had to share you with Sue Ellen, but I couldn't stand the thought of sharing you with anyone else. I had to punish you!

  J.R. Ewing : So you tried to ruin me.

  [Mandy sobs] 

  J.R. Ewing : I laid myself wide open for you. I trusted you. You stabbed me in the back by telling Cliff Barnes every word I said.

  Mandy Winger : [sobs]  I can't take any of this back.

  [big sob] 

  Mandy Winger : But I can stop before I hurt you any more.

  [gets up] 

  Mandy Winger : I found an apartment. I'll be out by the end of the week, I promise you'll never have to see or hear from me again.

  J.R. Ewing : You don't have to leave.

  Mandy Winger : [shakes her head]  I can't stay here now.

  J.R. Ewing : [gets up]  This place is yours. Always will be. I could never set foot through that door without thinking of you.

  [she sobs] 

  J.R. Ewing : Maybe we can't fix what's gone wrong between us, I'm not even sure I want to...

  [puts his hand on the crying young woman's shoulder] 

  J.R. Ewing : but I know you love me.

  [she continues sobbing, and he hugs her close, knowing exactly how well this is going for him]
