During the opening credits - as John Drake's packing his bag, the book on the bed is: The Theory of The Neutron Ray, by Boris Turganev. While the book is apparently fake, the name is almost certainly an alliteration of Boris Turgenov, who was the 2nd Crimson Dynamo - a super villain in the Marvel Comics Universe. The Crimson Dynamo character was a Russian agent who clashed with Iron Man. Turgenov, as the 2nd Crimson Dynamo's tenure was albeit brief - only in 1964 (the year this episode was made and broadcast).
When Michael Pearce asks Ms Wells to dance, Randall says (in actual Russian, translated to English) ''ukhodite srazu'', which means, 'leave immediately'.
In the opening, as Drake's following the bus N°.134, it stops at Tottenham Court Road. As of 2024 the London N°.134 bus route still stops at Tottenham Court Road.
Colony Three is also referred to as The Village, just like in the series The Prisoner . No one ever leaves Colony Three.
