They left me in a field covered in molasses

A step up from the last episode. This time we have a much more interesting premise as Daria & Quinn explore what it might be like attending college.

Daria finds a way to exploit the unintelligent students while Quinn is worshipped as a queen.

We get great moments from Helen & Jake in this one too.

Daria and Quinn visit their parents' old college

Warning: Spoilers
After a visit to some friends who are already talking about preparing their daughter, who is only three, for college; Helen and Jake decide that Daria and Quinn should take part in a college preparation course. Part of the course involves visiting a college to get an idea what college life is like. Jake wants his daughters to see his old college so they all drive out to Middleton College to have a look round. Jake tries to act as though he never left by acting cool... which leads to the students totally ignoring him while Daria and Quinn go on a tour led by one of the students. Eventually Quinn ditches the tour and ends up at a frat party and Daria ends up helping the students with their essays; a potentially lucrative business.

This episode was pretty funny; the highlight was the trip to college although I couldn't help feeling sorry for Jake as he tried to act like he was still a student but just looked a bit pathetic. The scenes where the class imagined what college life would be like were pretty funny and Kevin's description of the fun he had on his college visit was both hilarious and disturbing! Overall this was a superior episode with a good story and plenty of laughs.

Great stuff.

The Morgendorffer family goes to visit some freaky family. They are freaky because they already are starting to prep their pre-schooler for the SAT and college life! While this is insane, Helen and Jake think that perhaps they, too, should think about preparing Daria and Quinn for the future--especially since it's not that far off at this time.

In addition to taking a special SAT course, the family goes to visit Jake and Helen's alma mater, Middleton College. Naturally things have changed A LOT since the Pleistocene Era--and the visit is less wonderful than the parents had envisioned as they fit in about as well as Southern Baptists at a nudist colony! However, Daria and Quinn manage to fit in quite well--and that scares their folks! This is a very entertaining episode. While college is a topic the series will revisit several times, this is the first one to deal with it. Filled with irony, this is exceptionally well-written and clever. I particularly liked the creepy scene where Helen is coming on to a very scared undergrad as well as the one with Daria and her new business.

By the way, there IS a 'Manatee College' (in Bradenton, Florida) but it's nothing like the way they describe it in the show (it's NOT on the beach and Manatee Community College actually DOES make you go to classes). Unfortunately, they just changed the name of the school to a boring and generic-sounding one. Perhaps they just had too many students pestering them about their location and lack of work required. ;-)
