Solid, heavy-handed episode

Warning: Spoilers
Yes. One that completely centers on Barn's character. Very surreal. He gets an early visit from Megan Todd ( beautiful Marie Wallace of course). Is she really there? He gets turned back into a vampire and he sees this as he casts no reflection in a mirror. He meets a hooded Leviathan who explains what the latter's race actually is. At the docks ( surreal here as it still seems way more like Barn is actually in the Old House basement) and a young lady approaches with designs set on him. He kills her and she turns up at the Old House a fanged vampire. Then Barn turns back to ordinary human after agreeing to do something for the Leviathans. You may notice the young lady at the docks is played by one-time film superstar Marsha Mason. This is her only DS appearance. As Barn gets up at the ep's end you can see Mason still standing around though she is supposed to have only been an illusion and to have disappeared.

I very much like the Leviathan storyline of DS. Marie Wallace is great to watch and has a lot to do in it. The explanation is interesting for exactly who or what the Leviathans and other high points. Yes, the ep is surreal and heavy handed but on DS neither can be a minus.

Warning: Spoilers
A good episode, first time in a long time the Barnabas character is allowed to dominant am entire show from beginning to end.

Michael tells Barnabas to kill Julia Hoffman but Barnabas refuses.

Later at the old house, a hooded Leviathan appears to Barnabas and tells him he must follow the order and talks about what Barnabas once was.

In a dream. Barnabas sees a bat. When he awakens he sees he has no reflection and his fangs have returned. He realizes the Leviathans can curse him as a vampire again.

He is later seen on the docks, Marsha Mason (later an Oscar nominated actress) plays Audrey, another of those streetwalkers from the docks who have appeared in every time period. Barnabas bites her.

At the old house, the Leviathan tells him that they are holding Josette hostage in the past. He says Julia need not be killed but still dealt with. Barnabas sees his reflection again and realizes he must obey.
